9.1 Personal data we collect:
In addition to any applicable personal data categories set out in section 1 of this Privacy Policy, if you engage with us through our Careers Website or otherwise as a prospective employee, we may collect personal data about you in connection with the recruitment process, including:
- your name;
- address;
- email address;
- phone number;
- education history, including qualifications, awards and academic transcripts;
- visa or right to work status;
- correspondence you have with us and information relating to questions you ask during the recruitment process, as well as our responses to those questions;
- background information about you which is relevant to the role you are applying for, including (with your prior consent), your criminal history and credit history;
- information regarding your career and professional life, such as your CV or resume, job history, references and contact information of referees and former employers; and
- publicly available information about you (including on publicly available social media platforms, such as LinkedIn).
9.2 How and why we collect your personal data:
In addition to any applicable purposes described in section 3 of this Privacy Policy, if you engage with us through our Careers Website or otherwise as a prospective employee, we will process your personal data in order to communicate with you regarding the recruitment process and assess your application, including determining whether your application meets the requirements of the vacancy you have applied for and whether you would be a good fit for our organisational culture and values.
We may also use this information to let you know about other opportunities with us and to invite you to participate in recruitment activities or events in connection with the recruitment process.
We typically collect personal data directly from you, but, in addition to any applicable methods of collection set out in section 2 of this Privacy Policy, with your consent, we may also collect personal data from third parties, including:
- third party agencies for the purposes of performing background checks such as criminal background checks and/or personal financial/credit checks;
- immigration agencies;
- recruitment agencies; and
- current and previous employers or other third parties you have consented to us contacting for the purposes of providing a reference or confirming your employment history.
You can refuse to allow us to conduct checks with any third-party agency, but this may affect our ability to offer you a role with Auckland Airport.
We may also collect personal data about you from public sources, such as information available online or via on publicly available social media platforms, such as LinkedIn.
9.3 Who we disclose your personal data to:
In addition to any relevant third parties listed in section 4 of this Privacy Policy, if you engage with us through our Careers Website or otherwise as a prospective employee, with your consent, we may also share certain personal data about you with your recruitment agency or any of the third-party agencies set out above for the purposes set out in this section. We do not sell your personal data to any third parties.
9.4 How we store your personal data:
We retain the personal data described in this section 9 for as long necessary to complete the recruitment process for the role you have applied for. If you are successful in being selected for a role and are employed or engaged by us, we will retain the personal data described in this section within our HR systems to support the employment or contractor engagement processes and the management of your employment or engagement throughout your time with Auckland Airport. This information will be retained in accordance with applicable statutory requirements and our internal Auckland Airport policies.
Unsuccessful application information (including applicable personal data) may be stored for a longer period to support our compliance obligations or otherwise as required or permitted under applicable law.
With your consent, we may store your application information (including applicable personal data) for a reasonable period of time to evaluate your fit for other job vacancies, and contact you about these. You can request that your personal information be removed from our database at any time.
